RoaR!

RoaR (Romance on a Rocketship) is my new obsession. I have literally had this song on repeat all day, including listening to it during my classes at school today, which is a no-no at my school (and most schools right?), but I couldn't help myself. i'm totally posting the vid on here for you guys, in fact I'll do it right now!

The singer from RoaR is so good looking, and I LOVE his little smirk.

Anyway, my friends reminded me about homecoming that's coming up in September. I'm going to wear the same dress i wore two years ago, and just get new accesories, so i can save money for a prom dress. I love my friends, i really do, and a lot of people that love their friends like i do want to go to the same college as them, but for some reason I don't feel like that. It be cool if some of my friends and I went to the same school, but I don't think any of us are even applying to the same schools, except the ones in Georgia because they cost less since we're in state and the state has a scholarship for students who have a 3.5 GPA or better.
Anyway I really want this shirt, and it's only $14 (but it'll have to wait until after this weekend, because this weekend is Dragon*Con!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!). This shirt isn't the best band tee i've ever seen, but i'm not saying it's bad, it's just that I like this group so much, even though discovered them only yesterday, that I don't mind have a shirt from them that isn't amazing, but having the shirt represents how much i like the band, do you guys understand what I'm saying? Anyway, I want the shirt and I'll pair it with my new leather jacket that I got for $15 from a thrift store near my school. I need to take pictures of it and put them on here!

My Friend Got Me Sick

Isn't the worst when your friends get you sick? My friend gave me a "summer" cold and it's the worst cold i've EVER had! My nose is runny, i have a killer headache, i'm feeling oh so lethargic and I don't know how long it will last. Some my friend is getting cookies from me tomorrow though, weird huh? Really i'm bring cookies to the people in my AP Bio class and she's one of them so,..., yeah.
Anyway i've been acting really Asian-wanna-be lately. My brother got me into K-Pop last year and what started as listening to the occasional song has turned into an addiction that will soon overtake my small mp3 player. I've also been looking at yesstyle.com, but not for clothes, their clothes wouldn't fit me in a million years. They have a huge selection of purses, including tons of designer knock-offs for very reasonable prices. They have knock offs of the classic chanel black quilted texture hand bag, which i want to get, and a knock off of the coach bag that Karla from Karla's Closet (karlascloset.blogspot.com) designed, which i think i'll also get. Their version is like $32, compared to the Coach version which is WAY more, sorry i don't remember the actual price. I'm tried just adding one photo instead of the whole group, but it won't let me, and it makes the photos super small, but if your interested i can put the links up, just leave me a note in the comments section.

I've also been looking for a new pair of sound-canceling headphones. i was going to go for a pair of skullcandy headphones, but while on yesstyle i saw some of the cutest headphones ever from a company called mix-style. The problem is the pair i want are $70 on yesstyle's website, which i'm not sure i'm willing to pay. I can find them on ebay for less, but i'm not sure if i can find them in the color i want. They have tons of look alikes on ebay, but most are knock offs that aren't that great, supposedly, that are priced between $20 and $2, so i don't know what i'll do. These are the pair i want, i love them, they show off more of my style.
Last, but not least, I've been obsessed with this song and the msic video, i have been watching and listening to it non-stop. Very few Asians can pull of the blond hair AND the guy-liner, but looks so adorable, and he's such a great dancer!

The Japanese Are More Daring

Spent a couple of hours looking at a Japanese street style website today and realized something:
Japanese street style isn't bad or tacky it's just more daring than what most of us are used to.

I didn't like everything i saw on the website (including guy-liner and guys in skirts), but there were some looks i liked so i saved tons of pictures, which are now cluttering my desktop, i may have to make an inspiration board in my room. Here are some of the photos i saved from the website. Pretty sure the website is japanesestreets.com (srry, i closed it down after i was done looking and didn't start the post 'til later)

These two looks aren't really any different from what you may see in the U.S., but I still love these simple looks.

Love all the nude and flowy material, just gorgeous, but not really over the top, you know?

I love the pattern mixing and pops of color, even though my wardrobe is being taken over by more and more black and white.

I want to copy the look of the girl on the bottom sooo bad, it's just adorable.

I love the layering!

I LOVE booth these looks, especially the on on the bottom, i can't get enough of leather jackets and batman T-shirts.

I love black outfits with pops of color!

I love the mixing of prints, textures and colors in these looks.

Japanese street style is pretty inspiring, and even though I won't be wearing some outfits as extreme (for lack of a better word) as theirs, I do want to take some ideas from them to amp up my own style.

Ending the Week Broken Hearted

This has been a week of love lost for me. I ordered a cute pair of heels off of Forever21's website, which said the heels were 4.5 inches high, but when i got them they were 5.5 inches and i couldn't walk in them. When i tried to walk i felt like a dinosaur. You know how when people pretend to be dinosaurs they walk on their tippy-toes with their knees slightly bent, that's how i was walking in those heels. I felt bad because i wanted them soo bad and when i got them they weren't what i thought they'd be.

I had senior pictures Monday ad met the cutest photographer, but I'll probably never see him again (heart break #2). Heart break #3, I'm over the guy i've had a crush on for forever. Not sure if this counts as a heart break, but i guess it's good that i'm over him, but i'm still sad about the shoes, :(.

Maybe My Favorite Photo of Me!

I'm one of those people that hates photos of themselves, ironic since i have a fashion blog, but that's how i am. My friend took this secret photo of me on the school bus and i love it!

Pastel Grunge (If That Even Exists)?

This outfit was, i don't know, my favorite burn out shirt paired with a floral skirt, my lovely Doc Martens, and my new crochet trim vest. I wore this to take my dog walking and i think that was the day my sister and i went to see the fish in the creek down the street from me.

My life has been hectic lately. I've been getting style ideas everywhere i look and i'm going through a closet clean out and wardrobe increase. I'm also saving money for Dragon*Con (starts two weeks from Friday! YAY!) because people say you should take between $100 and $300 with you because of artist artwork that is sold, food and trinkets, etc.

My friends are all over the place. I want to hang out with them, but i'm loaded down with homework, don't have a car and tired half the time. One of my friend's parents are making he live with a relative in another state and finish high school cause she started hanging with the wrong crowd. Guess it's for the best, we hadn't talked in months and i got one last hug before she left. I have another friend who i hadn't talked to in about 6 months as well, just cause we aren't in the same classes and never saw each other, but i'm making an effort to talk to her because she's fun to hang out with and i feel like i can admit anything to her.

Oh photos. I'm so neglectful to my blog and my homework. I've pretty much decided not to do two of my homework assignments, i'm just exhausted and all this work keeps me from working out and even if I still want to play roller derby and be a derby girl i don't know if i'll have time to practice and do school work. I'm just blah at the moment.

Mixed Messages

So my neighbor has this knack for giving us clothes that she bought (? i think she buys them,...) and giving them to us. Usually the clothes only fit my sister, but this time my neighbor brought over some white heels. when i saw them they looked kind of ugly, but i tried them on anyway, and they great when i put them on my feet. Now one of my favorite pairs of heels. They're some old Liz Claiborne's so i'm thinking they'll last me a while if i ever need them for an interview or a job or something.
In this outfit i paired my new heels with my Faith21 skinny jeans, a striped tee from Walmart and a DIY bleached denim vest. The bleached vest took forever. I read one blog saying it took her 2 hours to make her jean jacket a lighter color than mine. It took me more than ten hours, this was a 2 day project, but it was worth it. I haven't decided if i'm going to put studs and chains on it so next time you seem it it may look different.
Anyway, i have a weekend packed with volunteering, homework and college applications. Not fun, but i want to go to college, so all these kinds are kinda necessary.

Day Trips Are Fun

Sorry that i haven't posted in a while. My internet went down Friday and just came back up today, terrible i know. I have posts ready for you guys, i've been craving a post all week! I went to Helen with my dad and sister and went river rafting. Helen is a small town that's suppose to be like a German town. It's on the Chattahoochee river and they have tubing set up on the river. It was fun, but it takes like two hours and there are a lot of shallow spots.
Anyway, after we went rafting we walked around the small town. I went to a store that sold gems and stones and things like that. I bought three arrow heads made of different materials for a dollar each, i'm planning on making all of them into necklace, but i've only finished one. We also went to a store owned by a woman whose accent made it sound like she was from Russia, but i didn't ask her where she was from. She sold accessories and trinkets and knick-knacks. I bought a bracelet with an eagle's head on it, a necklace with an elephant on it and necklace with a claw shaped thing on it made of some unknown material. The last piece needs some alterations, the chain is one of the cheap ones they put dog tags on, so i'm going to get a chain for it. I took pictures of the stuff i bought.
So, school started Monday and i'm all frazzled, i tell you guys more about it later. I really need to get a move on college applications, but i feel like i need to get a weekend job, because all the fees for senior stuff (senior photos, prom, yearbook, graduation, the list goes on and on...) are building up and i feel like my parents can't afford it. i'm going to see if i can get a free prom dress from one of the groups that does that kind of stuff, but i don't know if i'll get it, but i'll have to try. I won't have anytime for myself. one of my college friends told me to have fun senior year, but my classes are over whelming and i don't know if i'll even have time for fun, though i hope i do.
Anyway, to the photos!

MY NEW HEAD (of hair)

I got my hair cut, i know as if it could be any shorter, but it is. I love how simple, short and easy to deal with it is. It also goes with the way i'm feeling about fashion now. I'm in a grunge-glam (as seventeen calls it) phase where the only colors i seem to like are black, white, red and silver. I'm also adding some boho tinges in, because i can't seem to keep from doing it. I feel like driving (well getting one of my parents to drive me) to to goodwills, salvation armies and last chance thrift stores to find hordes of plaid shirts for layering, and to look for the one item i really really REALLY want this season: a military jacket. I don't want some skimpy cropped thing, i want a big oversized thing for layering up and down and being comfy in while traipse around in heels.
I feel like this, my senior year will be the year i finally go through all the changes i wanted to. My new hair cut, getting my ears double pierced, getting purple streaks in my hair, wearing heels more regularly to school, caring more about how i look clothing wise and physically, using make-up (even if i only end up using mascara and eyeliner, it's a start), getting started on roller derby training and just all the other stuff i've been wanting to do, but too scared to. This is a year of change for me, for the better. With my upcoming independence (going away to college) I'm feeling better, even though i only have two days until school starts and i have no idea what to do about these college applications. I'll figure it all out and try not to make myself go insane.
Anyway, here are some pictures i took real quick this morning of my haircut before i went to White Waters for the day. (I got a great idea for a DIY project: black one shoulder swimsuit, with embellishing on the shoulder, will tell u guys more later)

Checking Out Painters and Looking For A Storm

Took these photos yesterday when my mom made me run through the neighbourhood looking for some guys painting a yellow house, because she wants to get the house painted. I finally found them put was too tired to ask if they had any info, so i took the not so direct root of snooping around looking for a sign and looking shifty as i wrote down their number. My sister left, claiming "she didn't know me", but i didn't care, i got the job done and i looked good, in my opinion. Wore my lace tunic from Forever21, my new sandals from Payless, my Faith21 skinny jeans, forever21 jewelry and a clutch i got at Plato's Closet.
"To the Angel-mobile! AWAY!"

Today was an odd day. Printed out college application stuff, worked on it. Watched Moonlight Serenade with my father and my sister, Amy Adams has a great voice, but the movie didn't show off her acting skills and was pretty weak. The most memorable line from it was when the guy Amy Adams goes out with later in the movie says to her "You're like a Piano." I know this was a musical and they were all musicians, but that wasn't romantic in my opinion, it just made me and my sister burst out laughing.
Later i finally got out of my PJs and put on an all black outfit and went for a long walk. I felt like i was looking for trouble. It looked like it was about to rain, but i still wanted to go out, so i grabbed my umbrella and went. i really am a misfit sometimes. I walked for what seemed like forever, but i need some time to myself. I went to the creek down the street from me before i came home and found out that fish were living in it again! Guess it's not as polluted as it used to be. My sister and I are planning on going down to the creek tomorrow and feeding the fish, which probably isn't good, because they may get used to us feeding them and become dependent on us to feed them, but still feeding animals is one of those oddly peaceful things, unless they attack you for your food, but i doubt the fish would do that.
Anyway, i hope i have a post for you soon and don't stay away too long. See ya soon!
